So this is where it starts-I take my baby steps into the world of blogging. Its a Friday afternoon and i take my own sweet time to decide what i will write about. It didn't take long to decide. My mind involuntarily keeps going back to my 3 and half yr old and i think why not write something about what being a mother has taught me.
10 Lessons well learnt by "ME" over 'n' over again!!
1.Children are born to teach you patience.Just when you think "That's it,i have no more patience" they go right ahead and show you that you can always have more. The number of children you have and the amount of patience a parent can have are Directly proportional.
2. Yelling never works and unfortunately i do it all the time with my daughter(that's how i learnt it doesn't work!!) !This just gets me tired and mad at the same time.In order to stop doing this it takes you back to lesson 1.
3. If I spent 15 minutes with my daughter playing or reading, she doesn't mind leaving me undisturbed for the next 45 minutes.OK on second thoughts, let me cut it down to 30 minutes:)
4.Lots of cuddles, hugs and kisses.Works any day any time to get them out of their crankiness.(I assume this should work well for the boys too,i cant be sure as i have only a daughter)
5.A bedtime story can be anything with an animal in it ,put in a couple of them for good measure, can be as short as 15 seconds and they will still be as happy as if you told them the much longer snowwhite story. Can be used when you just want to hit the bed and fall asleep rather than read a real fairy tale.
6.Wake them up in the morning with a scream and be assured that you will have one very cranky child to attend to.
7.Once in a while give in to whichever dress they want to wear rather than spend 15 minutes fighting over it and finally give in anyways!
8.When they watch the baby snaps they will want to know how they were born and don't tell them that the stork delivered you.C'mmon you can do a lot better than that!It would amaze them to know that they came from the tummy:)
9.Don't make them answer the oh so stupid question "Do you love Mom or Dad more??" Whats the point anyways, does it make you more happy if the kid loved you more than your spouse? Also the chances are your spouse will be chosen!
10.And lastly ,Never give advise to another parent on parenting their child when they share their parenting problems. You may think you are being of help;the truth being they just wanted a listening ear :)
I can go on and on about many more such lessons learnt and probably should update this post as my educational journey continues with me the student and my daughter the Teacher:)
P.S : Readers feel free to add your lessons learnt as well:)
